A secular TV station in the Hindi language received so many requests for a program by Dr. Roger Houtsma that one of the two owners contacted us about a program with a good price. This station has cable hook-ups to 103 million homes with an average of 7 viewers each. At the time, this station was not broadcasting any Christian programming. This is tremendous! We have responded with an effort to create a program to reach a large segment of unreached people in the 10-40 window. The program is 1/2 hour per week and is oriented toward unchurched Hindus. If only 1% of the potential viewers watch the program, we will be ministering to 5,670,000 people. In addition, the station is seen in Pakistan, Nepal, the Middle East, and other neighboring countries.
In a nation of more than 1 billion people, television is both an economical and accessible means of reaching millions of people who otherwise would be inaccessible to the gospel. Each week letters have come pouring in giving testimony of miraculous encounters from the viewing audience. World Outreach needs your financial support to continue this outreach and to take advantage of this outstanding opportunity.
In addition to India, World Outreach consistently runs television specials in several other nations of the world. Our focus is to enter into television ministry in third world countries with a different approach. Instead of only a foreigner preaching over the air waves, Dr. Roger Houtsma is working with leaders in these nations to help release some of the strongest national ministries on television with him. The high cost of television is often prohibitive to these great national ministers, but through partnership in ministry with Dr. Houtsma and World Outreach, these ministries are being made possible.
